FLYING JACK BLOG
This week has been slightly better....flight wise. The traffic has been a nightmare.
The roadworks in Headington were the big issue during the New Year period, and while sometimes they DO still cause a problem, of late they have not been too bad.
The M40 closure earlier in the week caused a frustration for London bound drivers. It has been quite some time since I had to commute to work by car (my cycle ride to the airport every day tends to take me 10 minutes) but I remember clearly being held in a queue on the M40 up that hill to Stokenchurch when I was a young lad working at a tiny radio station in High Wycombe. And that was when it was just rush hour. So I know how infuriating it must be to be stuck there having timed it terribly. It is always worth listening to Jack fm every 15 minutes from 6am even before you leave for work, because if there IS a problem on the M40, you will hear it with us at Jack fm first.
Actually the M40 was a bit like a naughty child this week – it caused the same problems in exactly the same place two days in a row...and Junction 10 'thkweamed' out “ what about me....and promptly collapsed into a crying pile of traffic based puss.
Moving on.
Still dark.
This was Abingdon on Wednesday night....
As you will know its been VERY cold the last few months. For Christmas, I bought the Flying Jack a new jumper....here it is wearing it. Pilot Andy was not pleased...he has the job of taking it off every time we fly!
This is what it looks like when there is a broken down vehicle at Botley. Queues stretching past Abingdon North...insanity.
Until next time....
