I might get in trouble for this......
(Usually bosses don't like you telling it how it is - but hey, I've got the password to upload - so there's no rose coloured glasses here baby!) ..................
Ok, almost a week down, and JACK is still on the air & adding more music by the day.. (trust me, there's been quite a few teething problems - so being on the air really is no mean feat :).... But hey, I'm not sure if there has actually been any other radio stations in the country who have launched a brand new station whilst keeping another on the air, so we live and learn!.. I think we are the only one (feel free to tell me I'm wrong)...
On the technical side been a very trying week.. (and bless the engineering guys who we have met walking out as we have walked in at stupid o'clock).. But having a reality check - we aren't saving lives... we are only a radio station.. soon everything will be sorted..
To the guy who says the brekky show has a long way to go; first off thanks for actually listening, I thought we'd only have 3 listeners... but alas the emails, texts and streaming numbers indicate there are way more (damnit -we will have to actually do some work!).... Trust us - we know it takes a hell of a lot to change people's breakfast habits... We ARE brand new.. We ARE welcome to suggestions.. as well as presenting, I produce the show, so I am most welcome to any emails at sue.carter@jackfm.co.uk...
All I say is give it a bit of time to settle in... Technical things need to iron themselves out.. The day the phones, the microphones, the playout system and even the aircon all work at the same time - will be a VERY BIG DAY... Anyways, the brekky show is all about not taking life too seriously - but still tackling more than just generic tabloid issues.. We want to talk about anything anyone who is an adult may have an interest in and again, welcome any suggestions...
Hope you all are enjoying the music.. the feedback has been brilliant so far.... honestly, I've been in radio (oh god, now I reveal how old I am).... 18 years, and I have never (till now) worked in a radio station where you constantly hear the words "oh my god... I love this song.. I haven't heard this in ages"!!....
And what's more, it's also amazing to hear we had the biggest attendance at a launch party in years for Oxford.... The amount of JACKtivities requests rolling in is far beyond anything I've seen at radio stations 4 times the size... and the stories we hear from people at workplaces who have turned us on is pretty damn good for week one!............. Here's waiting week two!
x
Sue from JACK's Morning Glory
